Frankly I’m still amazed that movie theaters are still in business, what with the growing popularity of movie downloads especially for younger people. I think only the action/car chase experience will continue to attract the young male demographic to the big screen. Maybe that’s why my local theater is now showing Opera and stage plays “onscreen” to attract older fans, plus special “mom & babe” matinees. Anything to bring in patrons – who will then buy the popcorn!! Thanks for this. Very interesting stuff.

I knew I was taking in way too much fat and salt at the movies, had no idea how much.

Love the surly teenager quote! I don’t begrudge the theatre owners the $ from concession, but I won’t stand in line, so more than half the time I pass.
