All doctors are able to read and shouldn’t rely on the drug makers to “educate” . Because even the science is not settled.

It is pathetic to hear this. But unfortunately every doctor has to update on newer drugs. This can only be achieved by periodic lectures of senior professionals. We cannot blame everyone in this regard. The speakers were paid because they are doing this job abstaining from their routine work. All doctors are learned professionals. The pharma companies cannot do that just by their lectures.

WHAT? They are so-called “Thought Leaders” despite having lost their license to practice medicine? How embarrassing for the doctors being duped into showing up to hear these “Thought Leaders” read aloud their industry-provided speaking notes! Thanks for helping to publicize this ridiculous nonsense.

Please re-read these ProPublica findings. The doctors they’re talking about on Big Pharma payrolls are those accused of “professional misconduct, were disciplined by their professional medical boards, or lack credentials as researchers or specialists”. So, yes, we can blame them for wanting to line their pockets.

These doctors are at least honest with themselves. The AMA is a money club that ensures a limited amount of doctors with a maximum amount of salary. Big Pharma is their bread and butter. Can you blame a doctor for wanting to line their coat pockets a little more?
