“…It is the very least we can do…” You are so right. It is absolutely no effort at all to check labels and just refuse to support Nestle by buying their products. Easy.

This is not just a 3rd world issue! Here in Australia, we have adverts for Milo Chocolate cereal which suggest eating the cereal will help your child do better at school by targeting the “fuzzies” – honestly!

We also have an ad for toddler formula which is supposed to be only a last resort recommended by a Dr for children that are not thriving and refuse to eat. Instead, they make claims that Nestle formulas will make your child smarter, healthier (they use images of an under 2 toilet training) and happier (dubbed over giggling baby noises).

Its nauseating. Especially as we know formula use is a risk factor for obesity, cancers, diabetes, allergies etc etc and now the authorities are finally starting to admit a link with SIDS. Shame shame shame!

I had no ideas Peters and Haagen Daaz were Nestle. Two more brands off my shopping list.

Mother’s Breast Milk is the Best Gold Standard for Infant Feeding.

But on Certain Medical Conditions, Where Breast Feeding is not possible, and where Infant Formulas are recommended by Doctors – There should be no Categorization & Discrimination of Rich (Affordable) & Poor( Non Affordable)- Like NESTLE has Nan-1 ( Closer to Breast Milk, with Whey: Caesin Ratio 60:40) for Rich, and Lactogen-1 & Nestogen-1 ( Closer to Cow’s Milk, with Whey: Caesin Ratio 18:82) For Poor.

Infant Formulas closer to Cow’s Milk is something which is very illogical.

If Eye Vision is the Best, But on certain medical defects of the eye, one has to use artificial Number Glasses- It has to be only one Corrected Number Category which is closest to the Eye Vision. And it will be illogical to have Categorization like One Closest Correct Specks Number for the Affordable Rich & Non Correct Specks Number for the poor non affordable.

Similarly, when Breast Milk is the best & on certain medical conditions, where breast feeding is not possible & infant formulas are being recommended- IT HAS TO BE ONLY ONE CATEGORY WHICH IS CLOSEST TO THE BREAST MILK – FOR AFFORDABLE, AS WELL AS NON AFFORDABLE.

It is illogical in first instance to have Categorization & Discrimination in Infant Formulas, and have Formulas Closer to Cow’s Milk.
Similarly, Many Brands are available in India Market with Infant Formulas closer to Cow’s Milk, like Dexolac-1, Lactodex-1, etc.

Dan, it’s not enough just to say ‘don’t buy nestle’. We have to look over this list and identify nestle brands. Jenny craig, power bars, who knew? Memorize the list before you go shopping. Thanks for this heads up, Carolyn..

You are right – hitting them in the bank balance is the only way to stop this kind of greed. It may seem a small thing for one person to stop buying Nestle products, but one by one, if enough of us band together it will impact their bottom line and get their attention. It is the very least we can do.
